Synergy 2013 – clients asked, we delivered

This year’s conference was designed to help attending clients improve their use of Synergy in day-to-day business challenges. Most clients were aware of Synergy's key features but they wanted to know more about how to make the most of them in practice.


Synergy 2013 Brisbane - All eyes on GregThe conference focused on topics chosen by clients and were reinforced with  practical case studies for Synergy users of all levels. Before the event we asked clients to list their top three Synergy related issues so we could prioritise and include the most important and relevant topics in-depth. This also meant Synergy experts had the opportunity to answer specific questions directly.

Here’s a quick recap of the topics we covered at Synergy 2013:


  • Reporting and Customisation (yes, again!) – capturing prospecting data for campaigns and customisation of management reports for better decision making
  • Resource Planning – explored ‘tasks vs activities’, sub project templates, work breakdown and scheduling
  • Forecasting – demonstrated the new forecasting functionality in Synergy 4.8 to help manage projects and pipelines
  • Cloud Synchronisation – the benefits of cloud computing and demonstration of the Synergy cloud in practice


  • Contacts – use of classifications and better contact management processes to build effective campaigns for business development and growth
  • Attributes – using mandatory attributes to capture important data and ensure required fields are not missed
  • Data Management – simple tips and tricks to make certain all data is recorded completely and accurately
  • Staff Engagement – guest speaker James Wright from RedBalloon Corporate spoke about ways to improve staff engagement using the ‘Happy People, Happy Profits’ model

The conference agenda this year — in an extended lunch format — was a little shorter and more relaxed but remained highly informative. Most attendees appreciated the more intensive session — it worked out better for their "concentration span" and allowed more time for networking. Amongst the really positive feedback, we got some great suggestions for future events – so stayed tuned for more updates!
